This is a great product. The choices of voices and the pronunciation of the street names works great! I've tried Tom Tom and Navigon but really didn't like the interface. Garmin has a super database of POI's and you can search by name.My only complaint is the FM transmitter. When this works is makes this GPS an awesome hub for media. Music, Audiobooks, Bluetooth (I've used the FM transmitter for the cell phone audio and it works great!), and of course GPS directions. I had to buy an FM transmitter from [...]to get it to beat out the FM noise. Garmin should really fix that problem.

This is my first GPS. I'm an owner/operator truck driver. I wish I could find the truck driver download for the GPS but no luck yet. With all the points of interest it really is handy. I like being able to add via points to get the route I want and to also add fuel stops. I run all 48 states. Wish I had bought a GPS long ago. The instruction manual is a little vauge but with a little trial and error was able to figure it out. If your a truck driver this handy little device is hard to beat!!!

We have a built in Navi on our Honda and on our Lexus. Both were $2,000 option. Neither are as good as the Garmin! We travel alot and wanted a gps to take with us for rental car use. The Garmin Nuvi 760 works better, routes better and has traffic updates. I don't use the one in my cars now. Will never buy a car again with the navi already included.

This is the 3rd GPS I have had. I had to get rid of the Tom Tom about 2 years ago (maybe they are better now). The other was also a Garmin nüvi and it was just as good as this one. You have to pay a small fee to MSN to use all the traffic services and every place does not have service but it is great where there is. Sometimes one way streets are not correct (maybe because they changed after the map software was created, so you have to watch for that in big cities especially.

I bought my boyfriend a TomTom XL in February and recently decided that I needed a GPS as well. It seems to work well for him, but I wanted something different. Since I travel to CA frequently, it needed to have hands free capability with my cell phone - this is easy to set up and usually works well, but sometimes it cuts out/is hard to understand. The nüvi also plays mp3s (a big pro when in the middle of nowhere and there aren't good radio stations), but the FM transmitter doesn't work very well so I can't listen to them through my car's stereo. The mp3s are easy to load onto either the hard drive or an SD memory card. Compared to the TomTom, I found that it was much easier to find waypoints of specific types, such as grocery stores, except that it always takes me a while to remember how to change where it's looking for them. This unit also says street names (so long as you make sure to have it set to the correct voice - mine was set wrong at first) which is nicer than the TomTom.

Although the Nuvi 660 served me well, I upgraded to the Nuvi 760. Overall, it's a better unit than the 660. If you're deciding whether to get the 660 or 760, opt for the 760 because it has a newer map version, faster boot-up (but still has difficulty picking up signals indoors like the 660), no flip-up antenna, slightly brighter screen, QWERTY keyboard, better suction cup mount, and a few other feature enhancements. On the downside, the traffic receiver marginally works and the FM transmitter is still staticky like the 660. But if you already have the 660, no need to upgrade because it's also a very capable unit.

The cable that came with our GPS got stuck in the car's receptacle and had to drive to the place we bought it (40 mi. ea. way).

I have been using Nuvi 760 for about three weeks now. Nuvi 760 is a compact and very refined GPS unit with useful navigation-related core features such as street naming and speed limit posting; Bluetooth capability is very important as it allows a hand-free mobile phone operation during driving (this is the cheapest 7xx series Nuvi with Bluetooth capability). With the firmware update (available on Garmin web site), the unit picks up satellite signal quickly.

Intially got a competitive unit but returned it for the Garmin Nuvi 760. A much better quality GPS system. The touch screen is more rugged. I like the repeat last instruction feature with the 760 and the layout for the planned trip.

Instruction manual is terrible! Had to go to the internet to figure out how to work the darn thing. Once I figured out how to use it, its an excellent unit but still, they need to address the instruction manual.

I drive to work 25 miles and always take the same fast route (highway). When I got this GPS, it gave me anoter route, which would have taken me another 15-20 more minutes!

Much better than the 660 my friend has. I road with him out of town and when i saw his in action I decided to get one too. I bought the 760, had to out do him ofcourse, and I love it. It's better than spending $2K for a built in unit you can't upgrade.
