The Garmin Nuvi 880 is a portable navigation system with many advanced features, including voice recognition. Though the voice recognition of some GPS devices it a little sketchy, the Nuvi 880 works extremely well. The voice recognition of this model is very accurate, and works with a wide range of features.
The design of the Garmin Nuvi 880 is sleek and compact with the system only measuring 4.9 inches wide by 3.1 inches high by 0.7 inch deep, and weighing only 6.2 ounces. Today, portability is an important feature for a GPS, and with its compact size the Nuvi 880 it is easily transferred between vehicles. The Nuvi 880 features preloaded travel tools as well as games, and because of its small size, it is easy to take advantage of these features, even when you are outside of your vehicle.
The Garmin Nuvi 880 comes with a large touch screen measuring 4.3-inch, that is bright and easy to see; though if for some reason you do have problems seeing the screen, it comes with a feature that allows you to adjust the screen’s brightness, and colors. In addition, with this model you can use voice commands to operate 30 different functions; these include adjusting the system volume, playing - stopping the music player, accessing MSN Direct services, viewing the trip computer, activating the hands-free speaker system, and entering addresses.
Additional features of the Gramin Nuvi 880 include the ability to store up to 500 locations, and it supports multi-legged trips. Automatic route calculation is a great help if you somehow find yourself off track. You can choose either the fastest or shortest route, as well as avoid certain types of roads, such as toll roads, or roads that are under construction.
Preloaded on this GPS system are a large number of “Points of Interest.” You can easily find the nearest ATM, or place to eat, and it will even give you a list based on type of food. You also have the ability to add more points of interest if you choose.
There is no doubt that the Gramin Nuvi 880 is one of the best GPS systems on the market today. It provides accurate directions, and its many features make it easy and convenient to use. The only real drawback to the Garmin Nuvi 880 might be its price, which is high compared to many other GPS systems, but its incredibly advanced technology makes this system worth the extra money.
